I build systems that actually work in the most regulated and fragmented industry there is. I've spent four years as a core architect and leader on MyChart Central, an interoperability platform for MyChart, and Epic ID, the patient identity that powers it. Neither of these systems existed before I joined Epic. Today, MyChart Central and Epic ID are used by millions of patients at 346 organizations across all 50 states.

Verona, WISoftware Engineering Team Lead, MyChart Central
June 2023 — Present- Directly manage 6 engineers working across multiple projects. I have led dozens of project teams ranging from 4 to 9 engineers.
- Architected a highly scalable cloud-native OpenID Connect provider. Led a team of 5 engineers in migrating 3.5M patients to the new system in a live environment.
- Led a team of 5 engineers in migrating a legacy system from a single database to multi-region active-active deployment. It currently serves millions of HIPAA-covered accounts across the nation.
- Co-lead the ongoing cloud migration taking legacy MyChart from quarterly releases to a continuous-delivery SaaS offering.
- Ran a single-day Epic ID rollout across Louisiana, working directly with 9 health systems to resolve networking and deployment issues in their production environments.
- Worked with dozens of health systems on blocking issues during a historic two-week rollout of Epic ID across all 50 states.
- Gathered evidence, worked with auditors, and built developer processes for MyChart Central's SOC 2 Type I and Type II compliance.
- Built the monitoring system that now pages on-call staff for MyChart outages. Formed a team to maintain it, and own our ongoing on-call process.
- Presented several topics on architecture principles and internal AI tooling to all 3,000 Epic engineers.

June 2022 — June 2023- Designed MyChart Central's patient onboarding (HL7 FHIR demographics, Epic ID creation, record linking). Completed by millions of patients across 346 health systems.
